My Journey: Growth, Success, and Traction
There are quite a few operating systems that transform businesses —I highly encourage businesses to review them and select one. Having one operating system that can drive the vision and help the company focus is important to reaching the heights that visionaries often dream of.
Most of my experience is with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Like many other integrators, my journey with EOS began when my first visionary handed me a copy of "Traction" and said, “I want to do this, can you get this done”. Little did I know that it would mark the start of a transformative expedition for my professional growth and the business’s growth.
Sticky notes filled the pages of my first "Traction" book as I dove into drafting scorecards, accountability charts, and strategy plans, culminating in an extensive implementation blueprint. With the introduction of L10 meetings, traction gained momentum, laying the foundation for what was to come.
However, our journey towards mastering EOS was not without its challenges. Self-implementation proved to be a learning curve, with concepts like the role of an implementer initially eluding us. Through perseverance and iteration, we eventually found our rhythm, achieving consistency that set the stage for our success.
Adding structure to our business proved to be a game-changer. It enabled us to surpass milestones we once thought were years away, including reaching our BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) in three years. With each achievement came a plethora of "WINS," pushing us further toward the company vision.
Yet, our EOS journey didn't end with the final page of 'Traction.' We encountered nuances and challenges that weren't covered in the book, such as the importance of reset meetings and nurturing the visionary/integrator (V/I) dynamic. Fortunately, we found ourselves embraced by invaluable support and insights from communities like the Integrator community and Female Integrator Mastermind, making us feel part of a larger network.
Transitioning from a full-time integrator to a fractional one brought its own set of revelations. While the former demanded wearing multiple hats and diving into the minutiae of projects, the latter afforded a more strategic perspective and the opportunity to influence and support multiple businesses.
In conclusion, my experience with EOS has been a profound transformation. It has not only propelled businesses I work with to new heights but has also equipped me with invaluable lessons and insights that continue to shape my journey as a business leader and integrator. Through persistence, learning, and the support of a thriving community, EOS has proven to be a catalyst for growth, innovation, and success, instilling a sense of hope and optimism for the future.
